Quick post today. The images are from this weeks cover for The Weekly Standard.
The call came in Thursday afternoon at the last minute and there was ALOT of drawing to do.
I'm only showing the part of the cover I like.
Enclosed is a screen grab of one of the the references I used for Hillary, so you can see it's not always extreme pushing involved. In fact most clients shy away from extreme caricature. Der Spiegel for example told me not to go too far. I actually got a kill fee for a cover they never ran because it was too exaggerated. Go figure! So if you want to work for most magazines think about that.
